The 2012 NAS outdoor Matchplay series will
Overall Format
• Consist of 3 events followed by a finals.
• There will be a one off 'exhibition' event featuring archers from all around Australia
• Each event will be a stand alone event with it's own awards.
Single Event Format
Ranking will consist of a Double 50m ranking round on a 80cm face for all grades
Archers will be ranked based on their finish with tie breakers settled by
10's
X's
Coin Toss
Archers will then compete in matchplay using standard FITA matchplay tables. The top 8 will NOT get byes but start shooting round 1.
Matchplay
Athletes shoot 5 ends of 3 arrows.
The winner has the most total points after 15 arrows –– the score of each arrow is cumulative.
Until the field of play of finals, the athletes usually shoot their arrows simultaneously and have 2 minutes to shoot 3 arrows.
If the match is tied, a one-arrow shoot-off will be used to break the tie. In the tiebreak, the archer whose arrow is closest to the centre wins.
In final matches, athletes alternate to shoot each arrow and have 20 seconds per arrow.
Timing
Until the field of play of finals, the athletes usually shoot their arrows simultaneously and have 2 minutes to shoot 3 arrows.

The Gold medal matches shall be shot without other matches being run.
Grand Prix points will be awarded based on finishing place.
1st: 20
2nd: 15
3rd: 12
4th: 10
5th: 8
6th: 6
7th: 4
8th: 2
The Top 4 GP points earners from each division will be invited to compete in the finals.
If there is a tie for a place then the archer with the highest aggregate ranking round points will win the tie breaker.
Only ranking rounds shot on the correct format will be counted towards the tie breaker.
Archers can only win GP points for the state they compete in.
In the finals the top 4 will be seeded 1-4 based on their GP standings and shoot a matchplay to determine who proceeds to the Gold medal match.
Only 330 Grade winner will win the overall Championship
